Not everyone wants a guided tour β and that's exactly what the Expeditions Ferry is for. This is the passenger ferry that runs daily between Lahaina Harbor on Maui and Lanai City, giving you the freedom to explore Lanai entirely on your own schedule.
Once on Lanai you can rent a jeep or bikes, grab lunch in Lanai City, head to Hulopoe Beach for snorkeling and swimming, or just wander at your own pace. The ferry runs multiple departures each day so you can choose how long you want to spend. At $66 per adult each way it's the most affordable way to experience Lanai β and a great option for independent travelers who like to set their own itinerary.

Absolutely incredible. The water clarity at Molokini was unlike anything I've ever seen β you could see the bottom 150 feet down. We spotted three sea turtles at Turtle Town and caught a humpback breach on the way back. Worth every penny.

The crew was so knowledgeable and made everyone feel safe, even nervous swimmers. Breakfast and lunch were surprisingly good for a boat tour. My kids (8 and 11) are still talking about the turtles.

We did this on our honeymoon and it was the highlight of the trip. The catamaran is comfortable with plenty of shade. Go early, the morning light on the water is magical.
